Theatre Performance – Man and Gentleman by Eduardo De Filippo
The theatre company Piccolo Borgo Antico was founded in 1992 in Pianoconte, a village on the island of Lipari. For years, it has organized the Le Maschere di Dionisio festival in the enchanting setting of the Castle Theatre in Lipari during the summer, along with numerous performances throughout the year across Italy and abroad, earning both national and international acclaim.
The play Man and Gentleman is a brilliantly comical piece, adapted by director Tindara Falanga. It tells the story of a troupe of travelling actors hired to perform at a hotel, where romantic entanglements become tangled with feigned madness—the only way to avoid duels and jail.
