This is the main festival organised by the local government. The official celebrations take place August 24th, day of the procession and fireworks ; during the celebrations the Piazzetta of Marina Corta is animated by concerts and open-air markets. Particularly exciting is the procession of the Patron Saint which is carried on the shoulders of the islanders through the small streets of Lipari.
