It will be a pleasant spring afternoon exploring the Diocesan Museum and the historic lanes of the old town in Lipari. Along the way, your licensed guide will share stories, curiosities, archaeology, and street art that make this place so interesting.
We’ll start by discovering the island’s religious heritage through paintings depicting monks and patron saints, as well as precious sacred objects once kept in sacristies or displayed on the altars of ancient Aeolian churches, now housed in the Bishop's Palace Diocesan Museum.
We’ll then breathe in the scent of lemongrass plants as we enter “Strittu Luongu” lane, peeking curiously into the narrow side streets where fishermen and “coatti people” (prisoners kept in confinement on the island) once shared their daily lives—streets that today surprise us with vibrant touches of street art.
An experience that blends history, art, and tradition, where every corner of Lipari reveals something unique waiting to be discovered and felt.
