| Alicudi is subdivided into villages now almost entirely uninhabited. The route which climbs towards the top of the island runs along S-SE through a dense network of stone steps paths. The path that leads to Mountain-Dirittusu-Montagnole is the unique "transport route " which links the villages . Almost a thousand steps above the sea level (about 370m ) is situated the village of San Bartolo or Montagna, in ancient times one of the lively of the island, developed around the namesake church. |
