The Observatory of S. Vincenzo is the place where , since 2002, researchers from the Geophysical Experimental Laboratory University of Florence daily monitoring the erupting activity of Stromboli. Continuing beyond the observatory you take the natural trail which lead on the northern side of the island. After going through a stretch of typical Mediterranean maquis you pass by a forest of bamboo canes which has given the name Cannestrà to this part. At a height of 250 m a.s.l. you cross a path that lead you to the craters. Alternatively, continuing through the bends of the Vallonazzo, you arrive in Punta Labronzo, and beyond, in the village of Piscità. |
