| From the provincial Vulcano Porto-Piano road you goto the beginning of the path to the La Fossa crater proceeding towards the track which runs round the western flank of the crater in southerly direction. Venture into the valley of Grotta Palizzi we will see the stratigraphy of one of five volcanic structures of the island. Going towards the sea the environment radically change thanks to the presence of a perennial freshwater spring which transforms the valley into a small verdant oasis. |
