Hotel A Pinnata

• Wonderful view of the harbor! Marvelous!

The staff were some of the most friendly and helpful that we have met traveling in Europe. The staff work very hard to ensure you enjoy everything about the hotel. The rooms have spectacular views of the harbor. Our room was good-sized, the bathroom was a bit small but the hotel made good use of space to make it as comfortable as possible. Our room was very clean and the housekeeping staff did a marvelous job cleaning our room every day. The breakfast was very good. In addition to typical breakfast items, they had fresh fruit that was cut up and was fantastic. They make your coffee to order and bring it to your table. Breakfast on the patio overlooking the harbor was wonderful. The hotel has a charter boat that we hired to take our group around the island. It was a bit expensive (for a group of four), but afterward, we all agreed it was worthwhile. Despite the hotel being a 25 minute walk from the town center (we are not young), the hotel runs several free shuttles daily to the port and back. The public bus makes a few trips past the hotel as well. A taxi to the port or returning from the port costs 10 euro so it's not too expensive. The bed was very firm (typical of Europe).However, the mattress was made of foam and, overall, the comfort of the mattress was slightly above average. We had a delightful time and recommend this hotel highly.

• Great views and friendly staff

We spent three nights here in July. The views from our rooms were superb and both had a terrace. The hotel had a large terrace for dinner and drinks before dinner with the same lovely view. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Although it is a little way out of the town, this meant it was quiet and there was a shuttle bus which was convenient. A great spot to enjoy the harbour at Lipari and explore the islands.
