  • Stunning Stylish Hotel

Beautiful hotel exquisitely designed and located, with amazing spa. We had sea views, lemon trees on our terrace, and could hear birdsong every morning, yet were five minutes to the beach and other restaurants and town centre. The guest relations Manager Stefano went out of his way to to make sure we were looked after and there was a real family feel to what we felt was a top end place to stay. The spa is magnificent but sadly the treatments were booked up so make your reservations ahead. The restaurant was quite nouvelle cuisine and our only feedback would be that it would have been nice to have had a bistro option too, which we were told they do in high season. A relaxing and indulgent stay

  • Charm, elegance and a peaceful respite

In looking for something different, we took a ferry to the island of Salina - in the volcanic archipeligo of the Aeolian Islands. Our destination, Hotel Signum, which came to our attention after seeing an article in Conde Naste Magazine. It sounded lovely, restful and a respite from a fast-moving daily schedule. From the moment we walked down their lane, we knew it was going to be different from anything we had experienced in our travels. It's not difficult to write a review about a small boutique hotel with the No. 1 restaurant and Spa in the islands, but the thing that impressed us the most was the effortless peace we found. There are many reasons for this. , The staff is very professional - never intrusive but thoroughly attentive. . Whether you are sitting on the terrace overlooking the sea and Mt.Stromboli or . walking the property, vignettes frame every view. . Have a question, use their extensive library. . Need a treatment, the spa offers techniques using plants, salts and herbs that grow in the wild. The mineral thermal baths are available as is the Thermal Stove which is inspired by one built over 3500 years ago. . Want a new screen saver....the flowers, lemons, colors - all are tailor-made for framing. . The restaurant boasts a Michelin star chef who brings the island alive for the most discriminating palette. . Rooms are large and decorated with antiques that bridge the past while creating a calm, understated elegance. . Walk around the little town of Malfa and experience the warmth and openness of the people. . The local wines are rich and you will love imbibing while sitting outside. . AND always the sea, volcanoes and rich soil that they produce, Over 400+ types of plants grow in profusion including grapes, olives and capers - delish. All of them. . The only drawback, as far as we were concerned, is the distance to the 'beach'. This experience was a delight and, as I told my husband when we left, part of me will stay there - waiting for a return.
