Hotel description

Residence La Giara: the comfort of a hotel, the cheapness of a 4-star apartment hotel. The elegant and exclusive Residence Hotel La Giara is situated in a quiet area, approximately 200 meters away from the center of Lipari, the mother of the Aeolian Islands. Amid the unspoilt vegetation and within a stone’s throw from the sea, our apartment hotel is surely the perfect place to spend a pleasant and relaxing stay. The rooms, built in typical Aeolian style and equipped with every comfort, can accommodate from 2 to 4 people. Each room has its own private entrance, patio or balcony, TV, air conditioning, safe, room service and telephone. We offer you a hotel service which includes daily cleaning service, bed and bath linen and breakfast, served in the cozy terrace of the lobby. By taking a distinctive alley, you can easily reach the island’s center and harbor on foot, which makes moving around the island much convenient because there is no need to use personal vehicles, which can be left for free in our spacious parking lot.

  • Quiet and restful

A lovely oasis on Lipari! Our room was huge and had a small kitchen area. It is close to a supermarket, the ferry to other islands and the main street of restaurants. The hotel itself is set up like a village with either ground or first floor rooms. The pool is fairly small and shallow. The temperature of the water was just right. We had the pool to ourselves some days which was lovely. We enjoyed our stay and left feeling very relaxed.

  • A little bit of paradise

Yes, as someone else wrote: a little bit of paradise. Step away from the hustle and bustle of outside, through the locked gate and into the grounds. Lovely well kept gardens. Excellent service. Large rooms, with kitchenette (4-burner gas hob, microwave, sink and fridge), and nearby supermarket(s). Table and 4 chairs on our balcony. Choice of beds (we let our youngster sleep in the separate bedroom, whilst we slept on the twin beds in the main room). Both air-cons worked well. Good state of repair. Yummy spread for breakfast in the main building. As well as fancy welcome cocktails etc, the bar will also do a light lunch, which can be taken out by the pool, under the sun shade, if you feel the need to have a 'day off'

  • Outstandng

Tucked down a laneway very close to the port entrance of Lipari is the gateway of this wonderful hotel. Situated in a large garden with pool and ample sunlounge area, this lovely hotel offers beautiful large rooms with excellent bathrooms. The staff are able to converse easily in multiple languages. The pricing us great value for money. My only regret is that my stay wasn't longer.

  • Wonderful apartment hotel in excellent position

Large airy room with kitchen facilities and good balcony. Lovely staff, breakfast, gardens and pool. So convenient for ferries, shopping, buses, taxis and outstanding places to eat or buy takeaway arancini, pizza etc. Thoroughly recommend, we'll be back.

  • Loved This Place

After spending 5 nights in noisy and dirty Palermo, our stay at La Giara was a little bit of paradise. The residence is a very short walk from the ferry, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was pretty typical of that offered in Sicily. We really liked having a kitchenette for a break from eating in restaurants. There is a nice grocery store about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Only negative-internet not accessible in the rooms, you need to go to the pool or lobby to get a good signal.

  • Very Good

Spacious rooms with separate bedroom and bathroom, beautiful garden, good breakfast, but everyday - we stayed four days - exactly the same (bread roll, croissant, cheese, salami, ham, scrambled egg, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad, muesli, marmalade pie, apple cake, juice, tea, coffee, milk). Also available are espresso and cappuccino from the bar. Friendly staff. The hotel has a shortcut to the boulevard making it an excellent location very close to the ferry quay and the bus stop. Good value for money.
