The beach of Capo Graziano is made up of volcanic round stones, 500 meters long, and it is situated southeast of the port. At the eastern end of the beach there are huge rocks that create tiny and secluded rocky coves reachable only by boat. Behind there is a small hill where once had to be the namesake village dating back to the Bronze Age, still visible today thanks the remains of 25 huts. The depths of Capo Graziano house the most beautiful underwater archaeological area of the Aeolian Islands. Since 2008 the underwater archaeological museum is active. It includes nine Greek and Roman wrecks, numerous amphorae and ceramics. |
