The Sciara del Fuoco is the blackened lava scar running down Stromboli's northern flank. It is bounded by two ridges, north-east Filo del Fuoco and south-west Filo di Barona. From this point , at a safe distance, you can enjoy the beauty of the Stromboli eruptions. The current erupting area is formed by a large pyroclastic cone located at the top of the Sciara del Fuoco, at the less height then the peak Pizzo Sopra la Fossa and and is characterized by the presence of three craters in parallel aligned to the Sciara ( towards NE-SW ) |
